Model AP-171 Part Placer
The Model AP-171 Part Placer is ideally suited for Robotic applications. The Head is attached to a Trav-A-Track and a piecepart transfer Escapement. This Track is designed to carry a large number of pieceparts from a discharge release device located at the end of a docking storage track having the same length as the Trav-A-Track. This design feature provides for a quick refill of pieceparts to the Trav-A-Track between cycle times in the assembly process. The transfer escapement places each piecepart into the placement jaws. The jaws grip pieceparts until they are assembled to the workpiece. The AP-171 provides a pressing force of 38.6 kilograms (85 pounds). A larger cylinder can be installed to increase the pressing force to 79 kilograms (175 pounds) depending on the placement force requirements.
