3300 Work-Cell
The Model 3300 Work-Cell is an ideal workstation for semi-automatic assembly operations requiring automated fastening or part placement. An operator manually loads and clamps the workpiece assembly into a dedicated work-holding fixture, then initiates the cycle. The fixture is mounted on a pneumatic-operated X-Y slide, allowing the cell to position the assembly accurately for consistent, repeatable fastening or placement at multiple locations within the work envelope.
To match the application, the 3300 can be configured with any of Dixon’s standard screwdriver heads or part placer heads to meet specific process requirements. Screwdriving configurations can be selected based on the fastener type, access, and control needs, while part placement configurations can be tailored to component geometry, orientation, and placement method.
Fasteners or components are presented automatically using an appropriate feed system, with vibratory feeder bowl sized for the cycle rate and part being fed. The integrated X-Y slide/fixture arrangement supports flexible assembly patterns and can be adapted for dedicated tooling or future product variations.
Because the operator is manually loading and unloading parts, safeguarding is selected to suit the operation and may include light curtain sensors and additional guarding features as required—supporting efficient cycle initiation while maintaining appropriate operator protection.
As part of Dixon’s broader automation offering—auto-fed screwdrivers, nut drivers, part placers, pick & place mechanisms, feed systems, and assembly work-cells including robotic and vision applications—the 3300 provides a flexible platform that can be tailored to today’s build while leaving room to grow as production needs evolve.
