3110 Work-Cell

The Model 3110 Work-Cell is an ideal workstation for semi-automatic assembly operations requiring automated fastening or part placement. An operator manually loads the workpiece into a dedicated work-holding fixture and initiates the cycle, allowing the system to deliver consistent, repeatable assembly results while keeping the process simple and operator-friendly.

To match the application, the 3110 can be configured with standard Dixon screwdriver heads or part placer heads—selected based on the fastener type, access, and required control method. Screwdriver head options include pneumatic, DC electric, and servo motors, with available torque and depth-control features to support quality-driven assembly requirements.

Because the operator is manually loading and unloading parts, safeguarding is selected to suit the process, including solutions such as light curtain sensors and additional guarding features. The cell’s controls are designed for everyday manufacturing use and can include a touchscreen interface, standard error messaging, stack light indication, and PLC control options.

Fasteners or components are automatically presented using an appropriate feed system, with the vibratory feeder bowl sized for the Cycle rate and part being fed (with feeder bowl sizes available up to 533 mm). The work-cell is typically supplied as a complete package—driving head, feed system, fixture, machine base, guarding, and controls—so it’s ready to integrate into production with minimal disruption.

As part of Dixon’s broader automation offering—auto-fed screwdrivers, nut drivers, part placers, pick & place mechanisms, feed systems, and assembly work-cells including robotic and vision applications—the 3110 provides a flexible platform that can be tailored to today’s build while leaving room to grow as production needs evolve.
