Dixon customized carousel assembly systems are fully automatic, and perform screw/nut driving, part placement, pressing, and staking functions to meet a wide range of assembly applications. Each assembly system is furnished with tooled vibratory bowl feed systems. Piece parts are delivered to the carousel by offline feed systems appropriate order as required by the assembly application. After each assembly station completes its cycle, the carousel is advanced to the next part placement station for further assembly. A programmable control and operator interface panel provides complete automatic and manual control. "Good Part" sensing is provided with each assembly station, and may be configured with reject stations to divert any non-conforming sub-assemblies. Every tooled application is engineered to maximize the production output. Cycle rates vary due to part geometry, size, and other assembly requirements. Many optional features are available to meet the assembly criteria. Please discuss your next assembly project with us.

A Fourteen Station Carousel Assembly System
The machine is equipped with five part placing stations, one pressing station, and one ultrasonic welder. A total of five piece parts are automatically fed, oriented and placed at the various stations to complete the five part assembly build up. The ultrasonic welder welds the final assembly. The welder control is also equipped with inspection capabilities to accept or reject finished assemblies. Any non-conforming assemblies are automatically detected and diverted using Assemble Perfect® technology. A proximity sensor ensured carousel fixtures are unloaded prior to beginning a new cycle. Additional machine components include programmable logic control, supply hoppers, and machine guarding.

| Pedestal Head Assemblies |
|
A Carousel Over/Under Assembly System produces pedestal head assemblies.
Pedestal assemblies are transported on a servo driven over/under precision chain conveyor to a Dixon Standard Model SD-111 Nut Driver. The conveyor has 83 fixtures, each complete with 2 integral pedestal locating pockets. Hex nuts are driven to a depth requirement using the servo driven nut driver. A thread violating mechanism "crimps" the thread of the pedestal assembly after the nut is driven. Complete assemblies are lifted from the conveyor fixture with a Dixon Standard Model AP-325 Pick And Place Station. Other machine features using Assemble Perfect® technology include programmable logic control, colored operator touch screen, machine guarding and supply hopper.
